3000 Miles to a Cure began in October 2012, when Charlotte native and mother of four, Jenny Mulligan, was diagnosed with terminal Stage IV glioblastoma. Fueled by her desire to help, Jenny’s sister, Maria Parker, entered in the grueling Race Across America (RAAM) 2013, and is using it as a platform to raise $1 million for brain cancer research. Maria, 50, is an avid cyclist, who in the last 3 years has set 4 world records for endurance riding, including a new 24-hour world record of 469 miles, set in October.
