Some of the best persuasion techniques have been developed from NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) methods. For example, if you hear a person saying, "I see," a few times, they are probably processing information visually, according to NLP. To influence them then, you would use phrases like, "You can see how..." or you would actually show them things. A more auditory person would be influenced by, "I hear what you're saying," and "Listen."

Remote Spy Software - Just send an e-greeting card!
SniperSpy Version 3.6 is what is known as a remotely-deployable spy software. This type of computer program records the activities of anyone who uses your remote PC. The software can be installed by sending an e-mail attachment which contains a module from any Internet location. When the module is ran by the remote user, the software silently installs onto your remote PC. It then records an array of Internet activities, which you will be able to view in real time. SniperSpy got 2005 and 2006 recognition from Computer Shopper, Digit and PC Pro magazines.

The Illinois secretary of state will be required to come up with a system to allow parents to check the driving record of children younger than 18. They can check only their child's records, and there will be no charge.
Currently, driving records are public records and a printout can be purchased for $12. But in addition to being free and accessible from home via computer, the latest system will give parents additional information previously not available.

A "secret shopper" auditing technique catches the county consistently giving residents the bureaucratic run-around
You've heard of companies that send "secret shoppers" into stores incognito to evaluate customer service, often with embarrassing results. This year, Multnomah County Auditor Suzanne Flynn pulled off a similar undercover operation.
Her audit, "Public Records: Eliminate Barriers to Access," indicates that the county often fails to deliver public records and information.
