APA members Chris Ritter and Wayne Major dropped in on the display of military vehicles on Saturday, July 13. The show took place on the grounds of the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in Little Rock. The star of the show was a Dodge touring car used by General Pershing when he unsuccessfully pursued Poncho Villa in Mexico. There were Jeeps and trucks from WWII through the Iraq war on the grounds. You may have missed this show but admission to the museum is always free and a great place to learn about Arkansas's military history. Click on the picture above for additional photos.
APA members were all over the place on Saturday, June 8. Some were making their way home after long hauling on Hot Rod Power Tour. Others attended a show at the Air Force base in Jacksonville and a whole bunch showed up at the CAMS car club sponsored Ft. Roots Veterans Hospital cruise in. Partly because we held a short meeting while we were there. Thanks to Brian Ray we have these photos to share from that cruise in. As always, the veterans loved it and so did the members that attended. A special thanks to CAMS for doing this. Click on the picture above for additional photos.
Another Poncho Power Tour is over and I'm ready to do it all over again right now. Thank you to Ed and Beth Helmstetter for their hard work organizing the tour this year. Other than the horrible amount of rain we drove through on Saturday it was a lot of fun. Crystal Bridges Museum was incredible and the following day we visited Prarie Grove Battlefield State Park. When we finished there we took a spirited drive down the Pig Trail and stopped for a late lunch at Wiederkehr winery. There were lots of laughs along the way. Come join in the fun next year. Wow! There was a huge turn out for the first CAMS cruise in at the Sonic in Maumelle/North Little Rock. Lots of great cars and even better company. It was nice to get out and see all our fellow car lovers. I think the Central Arkansas Corvette Club has the best attendance of any club. They filled up the lot. And CAMS had so many of their folks there as well. I was proud to see all the Pontiacs representing. We love the Poncho iron, old and new. Car season is here. Enjoy.
The final spring Cruisin In The Rock had a great turn out. 125 cars participated in the monthly cruise in and we saw many newcomers. We're always happy to see new faces in the River Market. Thank you Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau for your support of this great event. Brian Ray took these photos so see the whole gallery by clicking on the image above.
